Repercusión de la nutrición materna en el peso del recién nacido

RESUMEN

El embarazo constituye uno de los períodos de mayor vulnerabilidad nutricional dentro del ciclo vital del ser humano. Dentro de las múltiples causas que influyen en el crecimiento y desarrollo intrauterinos, los factores maternos han adquirido gran relevancia al ser la madre el medio propiciatorio para el origen y desarrollo del embrión, y al mismo tiempo, receptora de las características sociales y ambientales. La alimentación incorrecta de la madre durante el embarazo, el metabolismo anormal de nutrientes por la madre, y el inadecuado intercambio feto-materno a través de la placenta pueden contribuir a la utilización insuficiente de los nutrientes por el feto, afectando con ello el desarrollo del mismo [RESUMEN TRUNCADO DESPUÉS DE LAS PRIMERAS 100 PALABRAS]. ABSTRACT

Pregnancy constitutes one of the periods of augmentd nutricional vulnerability during the lifespan of the human being. Among the multiple causes influencing upon intrauterine growth and development, maternal factors have acquired great relevance being the mother the facilitating way for the origin and development of the embryo, and at the same time, the receptor of social and environmental characteristics. Inadequate feeding of the mother during pregnancy, abnormal nutrients metabolism by the mother, and inadequate fetal-maternal exchange through the placenta might contribute to insufficient use of nutrients by the fetus, hence affecting its development [ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AFTER THE FIRST 100 WORDS].
